A flight simulator is installed at Khalifa University to improve aerospace engineering instruction

Khalifa University established a facility for 3D printing composite materials with assistance from Boeing.

Boeing and Khalifa University of Science and Technology today announced the installation of a flight simulator to assist university students pursuing aerospace engineering degrees.

In an effort to provide chances for future engineers and scientists in the United Arab Emirates, Boeing has been funding the university's Aerospace Engineering curriculum since 2020.

"This reflects our shared commitment to shaping the future of aviation, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and conducting ground-breaking research in aerospace engineering," stated Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice-President of Khalifa University. Khalifa University gives students the chance to advance their careers and contribute to the global and UAE aviation and aerospace industries by utilizing Boeing's knowledge and experience."

An essential laboratory resource at Khalifa University's Aerospace Engineering department, the educational flight simulator is used by senior undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as junior undergraduate students as a study and research tool.

The most recent commercial aircraft controls, which improve students' comprehension of aircraft operation, avionics, and flight software, have an editor built-in for entering aerodynamic geometry and airfoil data dynamics and flight safety. Students also learn how to apply the conventional academic equations.

Khalifa University built more equipment and opened a facility for 3D printing composite materials with help from Boeing in order to improve the educational experience for students. In order to draw the greatest students to Khalifa University's aeronautical engineering program, Boeing also provides funding for senior design projects and internships.
