win Dh2,500 monthly by taking pictures of life in the UAE

Here's your opportunity to win Dh2,500 and other prizes every month, UAE residents who love taking pictures and taking pictures with their cameras.

The Postal Portraits Photography Competition was introduced by Emirates Post on Saturday and is available to people of all nationalities who are at least 18 years old. We welcome photographers of all skill levels.

The competition, which will run until September 30 of the following year, aims to present “a dynamic display of the diverse way of life that define the Emirates’ cultural landscape.”

The participants are required to "capture the vibrancy of the Emirates' postal experiences through their photographic lens," with the activities being organized around discrete quarterly themes. Photographs of postal operations, structures, stamps, mail, mailboxes, letters, packages, vehicles, or postcards must be submitted by each participant.

"We invite everyone who enjoys photography in the United Arab Emirates to take part in this photographic endeavor. Emirates Post stated on Saturday that the project "demonstrates our commitment to promoting community engagement and capturing the rich cultural heritage of the UAE."

Standards

To participate, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Submissions must include high-resolution photos with a minimum of 3000 pixels in either landscape or portrait orientation for professional usage.
  • Every image must be in digital format, be devoid of watermarks, and not undergo excessive editing.
  • per member may submit up to three color or black-and-white images per month.
  • Participants must post images to their Instagram pages using the hashtag #PostalPortraits.
  • Monthly deadlines for submissions are observed, and the winning images will be revealed the following month.

Awards

The participant who sends in the best photo each month will receive Dh2,500 in addition to a variety of freebies.

  • October–December 2023: Photographing Emirates Post's outside buildings and architecture (Note: Interior areas are not included in this.)
  • Using images, tell your own story of the post in the United Arab Emirates from January to March 2024.
  • Moments of people near Emirates Post locations, April–June 2024. (Note: real clients cannot be included in this.)
  • From July to September of 2024, submit imaginative ideas for Emirates Post postcards and stamps.

How to submit

Every month, the deadline for submissions is the last day of the month. Every month, Emirates Post posts the winners on its social media platforms.
