UAE: Locations for National Day fireworks celebration revealed

As the UAE approaches its 52nd National Day, popular leisure spots nationwide have curated a plethora of festivities for families and friends to enjoy during the first weekend of December.

A Guide to UAE National Day Celebrations

The celebration promises a visual feast with flags fluttering across the country, a spectacular show taking over Expo City Dubai, and evening skies illuminated in the vibrant colors of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi:

Yas Island: Yas Bay Waterfront (9 p.m., December 2)

Guests of Yas Island can enjoy live performances accompanied by a star-studded ensemble during the day, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the Arabian Gulf at 9 p.m. on December 2.

Al Maryah Island: The Promenade (9 pm, December 2-3)

The Galleria Al Maryah Island’s Promenade will host a mesmerizing firework display and water show from December 2 to 3 at 9 pm.

Sheikh Zayed Festival, Al Wathba (December 2-3, 4 pm to 1 am)

A midnight show of drones and fireworks will cap off Abu Dhabi's iconic heritage festival, which will also feature live performances and special events.

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental: Hotel Beachfront/Abu Dhabi Corniche (9 p.m., December 2)

Commencing on November 27, festivities will culminate in a spectacular light display and pyrotechnic performance at 9 pm on December 2, which will be viewable to both hotel guests and the general public.

Dubai:

Global Village: Fireworks Avenue (December 1-2, 9 pm)

From December 1st through the 3rd, the popular festival park Global Village will include cultural performances and themed events, culminating in weekly fireworks displays on Friday and Saturday nights at 9 p.m.

Other Landmarks:

On the occasion of UAE National Day, fireworks are scheduled to be let off at a number of renowned Dubai locations, such as Bluewaters, Dubai Festival City, Al Seef, and The Beach on JBR. Nothing has been spoken about what's going to happen this year.

Sharjah:

The celebrations in Sharjah for National Day started in November and will last all the way until December 3. From November 28 through December 3, the Al Mudam area of Sharjah National Park will host a fireworks display, theater performances, seminars, and interactive contests.
