UAE frees 3,440 prisoners before National Day 2023 celebration

The United Arab Emirates has freed around 3,440 inmates in time for National Day 2023. The emirates' rulers ordered the release of all prisoners in the nation.

In a compassionate move, the United Arab Emirates has granted freedom to more than 3,440 prisoners in anticipation of National Day 2023. Each emirate's ruler issued directives for the release of inmates from correctional facilities across the nation.

Presidential Pardon in Abu Dhabi:

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spearheaded the release of 1,018 individuals from correctional institutions across the UAE, marking the 52nd Union Day celebrations. The pardon symbolizes Sheikh Mohamed's commitment to offering these released individuals a fresh start and facilitating their reintegration into families and communities. Relevant authorities have initiated the necessary procedures to expedite the return of those pardoned to their families.

Dubai's Release Order:

In conjunction with the 52nd Union Day festivities, the Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, released 1,249 inmates from Dubai's correctional facilities. The inmates' nationalities were numerous. This action reflects the leadership's dedication to humanitarian principles and giving people a chance to start over.

Pardons across the Emirates:

  • Sharjah: Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, pardoned 475 prisoners based on good conduct and behavior ahead of the 52nd Union Day.

  • Ras Al Khaimah: Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, directed the release of 442 prisoners, demonstrating the ruler's commitment to granting a second chance for a new life.

  • Ajman: Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, ordered the release of 143 prisoners, emphasizing the importance of providing a fresh start and joy to families.

  • Fujairah: Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, pardoned 113 prisoners, selecting them based on good conduct and behavior and adhering to all conditions of pardon in the UAE.

These acts of clemency underscore the UAE's leadership's dedication to fostering compassion and providing individuals with the opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
