UAE: Authorities in Abu Dhabi announce a lower speed limit on a major thoroughfare
UAE: A major highway in Abu Dhabi has a reduced speed limit, announced by the authorities.
On a significant emirate route, the Abu Dhabi Police has announced a speed limit reduction that will take effect on November 1, 2023.
The authorities announced the increased speed restriction on Khalid Bin Sultan Street in the Al Ain region via X, formerly Twitter. The 80 km/h speed restriction will be the new standard.
The area between Al Ghail Roundabout and Al Sarooj Roundabout will have the modified speed limit in effect in both directions.
The goal of the action is to facilitate traffic flow on the route and increase traffic safety.
It is recommended that all drivers abide by the new speed restriction and road safety guidelines.
The minimum speed limit in Abu Dhabi previously came into effect on May 1
As the warning period nears its end, the Abu Dhabi Police have confirmed that the minimum speed limit of 120 kph on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road would be enforced starting from May 1.
In both directions, a fine of AED 400 will be imposed for driving slower in the outer two left lanes.
Be cautious and stay in your designated lane, according to the police.
Drivers should use caution due to the fact that the maximum speed limit is 140kph.
