Etihad Airways Unveils Expanded Routes and Extra Flights for Summer 2024

Etihad Airways is set to embark on a strategic expansion plan with the announcement of its summer 2024 schedule.

The airline aims to enhance connectivity and offer more travel options for passengers during the summer season.

New Destinations and Direct Services

Direct flights to Santorini and Mykonos, two Greek islands, and Nice, on the French Riviera, will be available beginning in the summer of 2024. With these enhancements, vacationers now have more fun things to do on their summer breaks.

In response to passenger demand, Etihad has also enhanced its new routes to St. Petersburg and Copenhagen, making them accessible year-round.

Increased Frequencies Across the Network

Ahmedabad, Athens, Bangkok, and Colombo are among the locations that have seen greater frequency thanks to Etihad's efforts to improve connectivity. The airline's dedication to expansion and the desire to provide customers with more route options in Europe and Asia are reflected in the improved timetable.

CEO's enthusiasm for growth

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the ambitious summer schedule. He highlighted the commitment to growth, providing customers with an expanded choice of destinations and convenient flight timings, particularly for European and Asian routes.

The airline is boosting capacity to international destinations and introducing new locations, such as the picturesque Nice on the Cote d’Azur, offering travelers enhanced travel experiences. Neves emphasized that the enhanced schedule not only benefits travelers but also aims to attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi, contributing to the growth of tourism in the region.

Key Highlights of the Schedule

There will be more flights to Athens, Greece, according to the plan, with 12 arriving weekly in May and 14 more arriving in July. Copenhagen, Denmark, and St. Petersburg, Russia, two recently launched locations, are now available all year round.

In the summer of 2024, Malaga, Spain, will have a service that runs every three weeks. Two flights each week will connect Mykonos and Santorini, Greece, expanding summer travel choices. Two nonstop weekly services will begin serving Nice, France, in June 2024. There will be a total of 17 flights each week to Bangkok, Thailand, up from 12 in February, an increase of 3 per week.

The frequency of flights departing from Colombo, Sri Lanka, is set to increase from eight flights per week in January to ten flights per week in May, with specific modifications to the schedule aimed at enhancing connectivity to European destinations.

Continued Commitment to Network Expansion

Following the revelation of additional 2024 destinations, including the Indian cities of Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, the American city of Boston, and the East African capital of Nairobi, this summer program is now in place. As part of its ongoing dedication to network expansion, Etihad intends to add additional new destinations to its route map in the next year.
