This call comes on the day that violations for "truck and shipment tracking" were first implemented. This year's registration deadline was established at the outset. The Authority confirmed in Cabinet Resolution No. (96) of 2021 that the system is one of the newest customs projects, with the goal of facilitating trade, supporting the nation's customs security system, and improving road security and safety by tracking truck movements. The resolution will take effect on October 31, 2023. The system's implementation will help achieve these objectives. Electronic monitoring devices installed on shipments and vehicles at the nation's ports allow shipments to be tracked electronically from the moment they enter the country until they depart, or until they reach their final destination within the nation. The fifth infraction is worth 2,500 dirhams and entails "opening the shipment before it arrives, or damaging, removing, or tampering with the locks of the electronic tracking device, or its affiliated devices." The fifth infraction has a maximum fine of 10,000 dirhams. The sixth infraction, "changing the truck's specified route, changing the truck driver, or changing the head of the truck without informing the authority," carries a fine of 1,000 dirhams, with a maximum of 5,000 dirhams. In contrast, the fine for this infraction is 500 dirhams, with a maximum of 2,000 dirhams. For "loading or unloading the goods," there is a final and seventh fine of 1,000 dirhams. A punishment of at least 5,000 and up to 10,000 dirhams will be imposed if the loaded vehicle arrives at its destination before the stipulated time, depending on how long it took to get there.
